Do I need therapy?

Everyone goes through difficult challenges in life. While you may have been able to cope with the challenges you’ve encountered, it’s always a good idea to seek extra support when you need it. Therapy can help you realize and overcome your habits and behavioral patterns so that you can better realize your full potential. People who attend therapy are the ones who are willing to do the work needed to live a more fulfilled life.


How can therapy help me?

Therapy can help you identify habits, thoughts and behaviors that are impacting your life in a harmful or negative way. Therapy helps you process difficult emotions and better manage your reactions to situations you are not able to control.

 


Why speak to a therapist when I can speak to a family member or friend?

Therapy gives you the confidentiality to speak to a professional who is trained to guide you as you process difficult feelings. Therapy is completely confidential, and judgement free. There may be issues you do not want to discuss with family or friends because they may judge you or have certain expectations of you. Sessions with you and your therapist are provided in a safe and private space.


How long does therapy last?

Therapys sessions are normally 50 minutes once a week. The frequency and duration of the therapy, depends on the needs of the client. It is not possible to determine the time therapy will last since, each individual client has unique needs and treatment depends on the client's tailored treatment goals, their dedication to services and reasons for seeking out therapy.
